These photos document the restoration of a former fishing boat, designed in 2001 by the shipwright Franco “Crea” Vianello. The boat belonged to the Bognolos, one of the last Venetian fishing families, based in Giudecca island. In 2016, they returned it to Franco Crea, who was able to give the boat a new life. The renovation works started in September 2019 and ended in April 2020. The boat, which was designed to sail in the shallow waters typical of the Venetian lagoon, still keeps some of its original features, like the flat bottom and the low draft, preventing the boat from grounding.
