AUTONOMA Build up

VENICE/MURANO 2019

For the 2019 edition of Autonoma, students from the Pilchuck Glass School in Washington, USA, visited the island of Murano for a three-week program. Their mission was to create a site-specific collective installation for the garden at Venice’s Museo del Vetro glass museum using as many recycled or found glass pieces as possible. Aiming to communicate the need for greater sustainability in glass production, the piece was exhibited at the 2019 Venice Glass Week and received a special mention in the first edition of the Bonham Prize.
